What makes a story good?

In a long story, plot is good, I'm all for PWP but if you're managing to stretch that out over 50000 words it needs a plot. Other than that, whatever works

What makes a story bad?

Too much description, I don't need to know that his cum was whiter than the first snowfall of the year or anything like that. Overdoing it, trying to cater to everyone and forgetting that you're writting the story primarily for you and you should at least like what you have written!

The best author:

I can't answer this. There are so many authors I admire, some of whom I managed to work up the courage to friend and talk to and I can't pick just one of them. I'll go with a relative newcomer to LJ and that's dracoqueen22.

Why?

She writes amazing Bleach fics, I used to read her work on AFF, she has this superb set of ficlets under the title Seritei Monogatari, they range from pairings to non-pairings, het to yuri to yaoi and I love them all. So many pairings and characters to get to know and love <3

The best story you've ever read:

I had to think about this but I keep coming back to Zakai's The Sound of Silence

Why?

It is absolutely amazing, there is no way to describe my love for this fic. It had me on the edge of my seat almost the whole way through, it took me to Hell and back and always left me wanting more. Amazing is the only word that can give it any measure of justice

Really not answering this, there are a few I can think of but I'm not gonna mention them here.

The best story you have written:

Ok, I'm really not good at praising myself and I actually feel uncomfortable answering this (yay for low self-esteem) but I have to say that I kind of like my Tortured Soul fic (Beyblade) and my Roy's Revenge (FMA) - I'm proud of them.

The worst story you have written:

My first ever PWP, it's called Powercut and I wrote it for my Beyblade fandom. There's a few FMA ficlets I'm not too happy with either :-/
